Our guiding principle is based around taking the time to understand how important your money is to you and your family’s long-term wellbeing.
We want to help you make the best decisions on how to build and protect your wealth and create a lasting legacy. We’ll help make sure your money is protected from the negative effects of tax – both as it grows and when it comes time to pass your wealth down the generations.
Our business has grown largely due to the long-term personal relationships we have nurtured with our clients. We look forward to starting our journey together with you – and helping you plan successfully for the financial future you desire.
Roland Oliver
With over 35 years of financial planning experience, Roland’s career saw him in senior roles within a number of major financial institutions before setting up Oliver Asset Management in 2006.
“Everything I do on a daily basis reinforces my belief that educating and helping clients in their financial planning, seriously understanding their needs, and treating them with professionalism and courtesy is a job worth doing – and worth doing well. I believe that our services can really make a difference to people’s lives and I’m very lucky to work alongside people that share these views.
We are constantly developing the tools, systems and processes that help guide our clients to their own personal financial freedom. This, combined with our human approach, differentiates us from the competition.”
Nikki Barnes
Nikki joined Oliver Asset Management in 2013, after 15 years with AEGON (Scottish Equitable) in a number of roles – latterly running the national sales support unit.
“I know how important it is that we deliver on our promises, and my previous experience has helped me develop an organised approach to providing high levels of customer service. My role is to make sure all our clients have a positive experience when dealing with us – efficiently, correctly and confidentially.”
As well as being responsible for budgets and financial reporting, Nikki is often the first point of contact for new clients. She can discuss with you personally how we work, how we help you achieve your financial goals and what you can expect from us.
Jonathan Beaton
Jonathan has over 15 years of experience working as a financial planner, and holds the Chartered Financial Planner qualification, which is testament to his continual dedication towards further learning and development.
He has worked at some of Edinburgh’s largest financial institutions where he has gained an insight and helped a variety of different types of client, from large corporations to a range of unique private individuals.
“What attracted me to working with Roland and Nikki is their strong belief and commitment to putting the client at the heart of any financial plan. By working closely, in partnership with a client, and really getting to know what makes them tick, alongside their current situation and future aspirations allows us to offer a service which I feel cannot be rivalled by others without the same client centred focus.
No two clients are the same, which for me is great because I really enjoy getting to know people, take inspiration from their stories, and help guide them on the possibilities that may lie ahead. By building a robust financial plan which incorporates tax mitigation, protecting human capital and diverse multi asset investing, I take a huge amount of pride in helping clients increase the possibility of achieving their life goals.”
